Tamarind Dhow Dinner & Evening Cruise

Tamarind Dhow for the ultimate magical experience. As soon as you step off the gangplank, you are met by a traditionally-dressed waiter who shows you to your table and serves you with a Dawa the house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice. As the dhow slips gently away from the jetty, the resident band starts to play and you quickly fall under the spell of the magical Tamarind atmosphere. Take your lunch or candle lit dinner on the Dhow of the Tamarind Sea Food Restaurant

With two sailings a day, you may choose lunch, shaded from the midday sun by a canvas awning, or maybe a romantic candle-lit dinner under a star filled sky.

The cruise takes you around Tudor Creek, you also get to have a panoramic view of Mombasa's Old Town and Fort Jesus. The dhow is then moored in a sheltered bay at the head of the creek. Awaiting the guests is the smell of finely grilled lobster and steak, as chefs begin to cook the sumptuous meals. A four-course gourmet meal can be expected. After you finish your delicious meal, a waiter serves Arabic coffee in an original brass pot. Once the meals is over, you are returned safely to your hotel.

Wasini Island Dolphin Dhow Tour/Excursion

Wasini dolphin DhowYou will be picked from your hotel in the morning and drive to Wasini Island along Mombasa Lunga Lunga highway and on to Shimoni jetty where you will board an Arabic dhow and sail for one hour searching for dolphins in the Kisite-Mpunguti marine national - one of the best marine reserves in Kenya. The park covers 28 sq km of pristine coral reefs and offers excellent diving and snorkeling. You have a reasonable chance of seeing dolphins in the Shimoni Channel and humpback whales are sometimes spotted between August and October. The dhow trip normally includes lunch and a walk in the coral gardens on Wasini Island.

You will then be returned to your Mombasa hotel in the evening.

1 Day Shimba Hills Safari

Leave your coastal hotel early in the morning and drive Shimba Hills National Reserve, just 45 minutes outside of Mombasa city. Enter Shimba Hills Reserve and proceed on a morning game drive in search Shimba Hills Tour from Mombasaof the rare sable antelopes, Giraffes, buffalos, Leopards, Elephants and many other animals. On a clear day, you can see the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. Lunch will be had at the Shimba Hills Lodge, the only wooden Tree Lodge in the coastal area. The Shimba Hills Tree Lodge overlooks a waterhole, the restaurant is strategically affording guests wonderful view of the waterhole and the animals that come to quench their thirst there.

Lunch will be followed by a short rest then we proceed for another game drive. You will have a chance to visit the spectacular Sheldrick Falls where you can walk between the water and the cliff and swim safely in a small pool. Afterwards we drive on our way out of the park and back to the hotel, arriving early in the evening.

Malindi Town and Gedi ruins Tour

Despite Gedi's close proximity to Malindi; it was never a focus of any European activity. In fact, Gedi was allegedly an invisible town never mentioned in any manuscripts or writing. Swahili Muslims established a mosque, homes and ran the town

Gedi ruins is now a National Museum, and the ruins are heavily overgrown with beautiful indigenous forest trees, baobabs and tamarind. Well worth a walk and a visit. Look out for Syke's Monkeys, and the Golden Rumped Elephant Shrew can also be seen here. A quiet, careful look in some of the old wells can turn out the odd owl, too.
Mombasa City Tours and Escursions - Tour of Malindi Vasco Da Gama Pillar
Continue to Malindi town where you will see narrow alleys in the old part of town where the old houses have been lived in for centuries. One of the oldest East African churches still stands strong; the Church of St. Francis Xavier still stands strong across from Vasco da Gama's pillar, where he carved the Christian cross. Also extant is the Juma'a mosque, which was misused as a haven for slave trading until mid 1870's Optional Visit to the Marine Park to view marine life in a glass-bottomed boat. After lunch in a local restaurant visit the Snake Farm and the Falconry. Thereafter drive back to Mombasa arriving in the evening.
