Mara Explorer Camp - Masai Mara National
Reserve
Mara Explorer Camp, anew luxury in the world’s oldest
wilderness, is located on wide thickly forest bend of the Talek
River in the middle of the Masai Mara reserve. Mara Explorer
Camp is found at the meeting point of the reserve’s four
major-viewing areas and enjoys prime views of the striking
wildebeest movement between June and September. During the rest
of the year, herds of watering elephants, giraffe and other
animals, can be seen many times from your private verandah.
Mara Explorer Camp offers 10 luxurious, well-spaced
tents, where each has its own private deck overlooking the Talek
River. Of the tents, 6 even have got giant double beds, while
three have got twin beds.
All tents at the Mara Explorer Camp have furniture styled
in a classic blend of the past days and modern, with fine hand
carved mahogany furniture, luxurious bathrooms with twin basin
and all modern amenities. Each luxurious tent is specially
designed to open up to the sky and, on one side, an open-air
bathtub, and has a private river frontage with views over the
banks of the Talek River frequented by animals. The "Explorer"
tents have been individually furnished with old wooden chests,
tin trunks and historic prints.
An
intimate canvas covered dining area looks out over the river
close to the camp entrance. Meals are served from own kitchens,
using fresh vegetables and herbs grown in the camp gardens.
Meals can also be enjoyed on your veranda, or at one of a series
of specially-selected bush sites close to the camp. Next door,
the camp bar provides beautiful river views and a well-stocked
library, while the lounge area offers luxurious sofas for
reading, playing board games, or swapping safari tales Activities at the Mara
Exploreer Camp are centered around game viewing excursions into
the Masai-Mara in the company of experienced guides, bush walks
with resident naturalists and night drives with spot lamps in
search of nocturnal wildlife. Elephant and leopard hides offer
wonderful viewing opportunities for these animals and much more
besides. Hot-air balloon excursions, soaring silently above the
plains, provide breathtaking wilderness vistas. |
