5 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing Using the
Marangu Route
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the
largest extinct volcanoes, It can be climbed any time of the
year but best time is July to February, Well April and May is
not good time cause of long rains .The mountain itself is 5895
meters high and is made up of three different volcanic peaks:
Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira.

After breakfast , drive for 2/ 1hour to Marangu gate an
altitude of 1900m, Finish the formalities and start hiking
through dense semi-tropical rain forest, for your first
overnight on Kilimanjaro , It takes 3-4 hrs walking in 9km to
Mandara hut 2700m ,All meals and overnight .
Breakfast , start the hiking through the moor land ,the
landscape becomes more rugged and rocky but superb , with both
Mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view , the hike is about 5-6hours ,the
distance covered is 11km , All meals and overnight Horombo hut
.(3700M )
Breakfast ,then the hiking start first to last water point
then cross the Alpine desert to Kibo hut 4700m , at the foot of
mountain , the hiking is about 5-6 hours slowly. This cover a
distance of 13km, it is highly recommended to have enough water
for drinking at this point and drink a lot. All meals and
overnight at Kibo hut.
Breakfast, The final attempt to the summit is made in the
early hours of the morning at 1:00am .It takes 6-7 hours to
climb the most difficult point and most demanding part of your
trip to Gilmans point 5680m .If strong enough another 2hrs will
take us to UHURU PEAK (5896m) the highest point in Africa, spend
few minutes at the peak then descend to Horombo hut for dinner
and overnight.
Breakfast , Descend through the moor land , rain forest to
park gate , where you will collect your Diploma if you make to
the summit , transfer back to Moshi for 1hrs or to Arusha for
2hrs.
